In the wake of worldwide economic, political, and social turmoil and a deadly pandemic in the summer heat, a city is falling into chaos. Empty supermarket shelves and citizens confined to quarantine zones with a corrupt militia making things worse. Fighting through grief and despair, all Liam wants is his family to be safe, so they decide to flee the city. Off to the Alps where things must still be better. But the pandemic seems to have changed even these small communities in negative ways. With Liam gravely injured, his daughter Sophia takes the lead. Standing up to the unjust villagers and helping others along the way, their little family grows, one undervalued misfit at a time.
